TMC Beach Break Sessions are professional, intimate multimedia recordings hosted at The Music Company TMC’s Pacific Beach (San Diego) studios. We capture the authentic energy of your performance with skilled videographers using 4K Blackmagic Cinema cameras, professional audio equipment, and experienced audio engineers. FAQs

Here are some common questions about Beach Break sessions

The Music Company (TMC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, offers Beach Break Sessions to support artists by creating high-quality, live multimedia recordings. These sessions promote artists on TMC’s YouTube channel and across major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.

No. Beach Break Sessions are based on mutual promotional benefit. There is no monetary exchange—TMC covers all production costs, and you receive professional-quality content and exposure.

Audio: You (the Artist) grant a license TMC for distribution, yet retain full ownership of the master recordings. The audio is released jointly by you and TMC, and any streaming royalties are split 50/50.

Video: TMC retains exclusive, perpetual rights to publish and distribute the videos on its YouTube channel.

When bands perform on Beach Break Sessions, the content owner of the band and TMC enter into an agreement to distribute the session. If an artist doesn’t agree with our contract, we occasionally agree to modify it, and that can mean not uploading to certain places. This mostly happened with sessions recorded prior to 2025.

Yes. All content will credit:

  • – You as the performer
  • – TMC as the recording studio
  • – TMC staff as the cinematographer, director, and producer
  • – The mixing and mastering engineers.
  • – Others as appropriate.
  • – Up to 3 takes per song
  • – Professional video filming, editing, and audio engineering
  • – Mixing and mastering (or you may provide your own)
  • – Up to 3 rounds of revisions based on your feedback
  • – A typical turnaround time of 8 weeks

Yes. If you choose to mix/master independently, you must provide final audio tracks to TMC in a timely manner for integration with the video.

TMC is not liable for delays or losses caused by technical issues or unforeseen circumstances. Both parties agree to maintain open communication about any adjustments needed.

You agree to indemnify TMC and its team against legal claims related to your content, such as copyright or defamation. The agreement is governed by the laws of California.

Only TMC may choose to terminate the agreement after recording has begun. If that happens, TMC may still use and publish completed content, unless otherwise agreed in writing. For this reason, you should be well prepared for your session.

Both you and a representative of TMC must sign the recording agreement document to move forward.
