Starting Fresh at 50 and Growing with Every Lesson
Chrisanna, who performs as Raw Love, didn’t set out to become a techno artist. She picked up a DJ controller in her late 40s just to support a friend and quickly found herself captivated by the creativity of it. She began teaching herself from home, but soon hit the limits of what YouTube and trial-and-error could offer.
When she discovered The Music Company, everything accelerated. TMC’s engineer Kurtis offered to walk her through Ableton, EQ techniques, arrangement, frequencies, and all the nuances that simply can’t be taught through videos alone. She started bringing notebook pages full of questions to each session and worked through them one-by-one.
For Chrisanna, TMC became the place where she could experiment, ask beginner questions without judgment, and steadily level up. She describes the studio as “feeling like Christmas” every time she walked in. It was a place that made her feel inspired, supported, and capable of turning her ideas into full songs.
She’s still early in her journey, still learning, and still discovering new possibilities every time she comes to the studio. But she’s gone from curious beginner to confident producer because TMC gave her the education, environment, and belief she needed to grow.
“Because of TMC, I’m a legit techno producer now.” – Raw Love (Chrisanna Northrup)
